My name is Moncef, I live in Paris. Studies in mathematics and informatics led me to a technical architect position within a large corporate group. Few years back, I’ve taken drawing and painting again on a self-taught basis, exploring a variety of media. Eager to take my practice to a new level, I currently attend the City of Paris Beaux Arts Ateliers

I have a predilection for portraits and figure studies, especially from live models, using a restricted palette and textural effects. Encounters, exhibitions, the city’s vibes, a moment snatched on the subway and captured on my sketchbook : everything can nourish my inspiration.

I’ve set up my studio on the first ground of an old mansion

(an hôtel particulier), in a wing raised at the beginning of

the 18th century. The light on the blond stone, the olive

trees in crates in the paved courtyard, some architectural details like

the mascaron that adorns the corner turret are a feast for the

eye and a constant call to create.
